Common Questions We Get Asked Regarding Bulk Billing
What is a Chronic Disease Management Plan (or EPC)?
The service is offered through the Medicare Benefits Schedule and it allows GPs to “plan and coordinate the health care of patients with chronic or terminal medical conditions, including patients with these conditions who require multidisciplinary, team-based care from a GP and at least two other health or care providers”.
Am I eligible for a CDM too get a Bulk Billed Chiropractic Appointment?
A chronic medical condition is described as a musculoskeletal condition that has been (or is likely to be) present for 6 months or longer. Please speak with your GP to see if you are eligible for a Chronic Health Care Plan.
Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?
We ask that every patient brings a copy of the Chronic Health Care Plan, this is to avoid disappointment as sometimes we may not receive the care plan from the GP in time. Please also bring your Medicare card so we can double check your number against the form.
Often the GP clinic will fax or email the form along with other information about your current health history.
Are the appointments 100% Bulk Billed?
Some Chiropractic clinics charge you the gap or the difference between what Medicare pay and what they charge.
However, we definitely do NOT charge the difference and offer 100% gap free Chiropractor Bulk Bill Appointments with the Chronic Disease Management Form.
What if I can’t get the Chronic Health Care Plan?
In order for you to receive the care plan, your GP needs to feel that Chiropractic is appropriate for the issue that you have.
If you still cannot get a care plan we do offer affordable pricing at the clinic.
